Brief advice on How to Read a Research Paper by Spencer Rugaber.
A short document by Ashwin Ram, How to Present a Paper, contains several good suggestions.
Simon Peyton Jones et al on How to give a good research talk
Ian Parberry's How to Present a Paper in Theoretical Computer Science: A Speaker's Guide for Students. Don't be put off by “theoretical”; the author's advice applies much more broadly.
Duane Bailey's An Open Letter to Research Students talks about projects that differ a bit from ours, but the points are still relevant.
